The Government has announced the revamped "Employment Support Scheme", introducing six enhancement measures, which include the removal of cap on income to benefit more employees. The Cyberport Startup Alumni Association (CSAA) welcomes the scheme and believes that the measures help retain talents in the I&T sector and fuel the industry development.
After consulting with legislators and industry representatives, the Government has enhanced the Employment Support Scheme. Thanks to the help from the Innovation and Technology Bureau, CSAA Co-President Michael Lo participated in one of the consultation sessions and shared insights on the pressing needs of the industry on behalf of the sector and start-ups. One of the suggestions he raised was to remove the cap on income, considering many start-ups tend to have few, but higher-paid employees.

“The revamped scheme is a timely support expected to benefit many tech start-ups,” said Kelvin Lei, Co-President of CSAA and CEO of Aqumon, “Along with the Government's long-term backing for the industry, we are empowered to stay committed to our duties, and do our part in Hong Kong’s victory over the pandemic and economic revival.”
